Mafaze from Lulengo Family

About Mafaze

25 Jan 2010

Mafaze is a large, distinguished looking female.  Her head is an unusual shape; it is pointed at both the front and rear as though elongated. Mafaze’s movements are also unusual: she doesn’t walk or crawl so much as swagger. So the rangers named her Mafaze - ’she who swaggers.’

She was born into the Rugabo family. Her father, Rugabo, was murdered by poachers. Since then she has lived with Mapuwa, Pili-Pili and Lulengo, moving from one to the other after violent interactions between them.

She has had no children that we know about and the Rangers are almost certain that she is sterile.
